"...For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, man must not separate.” - Matthew 19:3-6
Marriage preparation programs are available in different settings. Some couples attend a weekend retreat while others work with a sponsor couple. There are also a series of marriage preparation classes offered by parishes within the diocese. It is important for engaged couples to keep in mind as they do their wedding planning to remember that "Your wedding lasts a day, but your marriage lasts a lifetime."
The Sacraments of Marriage requires preparation months before the celebration. Please call the rectory at (802) 748-8129 for information and to schedule an appointment. Marriage preparation requires a six month advance notice.
Please download this document that lists the steps to planning for marriage. The document required fees, information for couples that do not live in Vermont and an application form. This document can be viewed and downloaded by clicking here.
