Sunday 4-5 PM downstairs at St. John the Evangelist. The Light of the World Evangelization Ministry (LOTWEM) is committed to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through retreats and small faith sharing groups. The semi-annual retreats focus on themes that equip participants to deepen and share their faith. The small groups gather bi-weekly to discuss Scripture, share faith experiences, and pray together. LOTWEM is also committed to Eucharistic Adoration and helps host a monthly adoration and healing service. Come join your brothers and sisters in sharing our faith this Sunday from 5-6pm downstairs at St. John’s Church. We will pray together, discuss the Mass readings and homily, share what we see God doing in our lives, and intercede for each other’s needs and intentions. It’s a great way to strengthen our faith and persevere in prayer! Come and bring a friend!

You are invited to come join your brothers and sisters in Christ as we prepare for Christmas at the Corpus Christi Parish Advent Retreat! This year’s theme is “Called to be Christ Bearers,” and talks will focus on Mary as Christ bearer, our identity as Christ-bearers, and how to bring Christ into the world. What better gift to give yourself and our Blessed Mother as we prepare to celebrate the birth of the Lord.! There are three sessions, each with a teaching, a witness talk, small group discussion, and a prayer service – one of which will be a healing service. The retreat will be Saturday, December 10 from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Danville. There is no cost to register, and lunch and snacks will be provided at no charge. Registration forms are available at all churches; simply drop them in the collection basket or drop them off at the Rectory. For more information, call Tom Lovett at 802–751-8187.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s comeback bazaar. It was a wonderful experience for my first time as chairperson. The help I received from former bazaar workers was incredible. I would not have done it without them. From the drop-off days to the clean-up after the bazaar, they all pitched in and got it done. To the ladies who stepped up and took charge, and Kyle, Steve, and Martin for the laughter, thanks again. We were also able to send donations to the Santa Fund and the Rotary Club for their Christmas Boutiques in some local schools. See you next year. We are truly blessed to have a parish full of good people. Merry Christmas, Sallie. 2022 Christmas Bazaar Winners! Fr. Harlow has just written a new book called, “100 Reasons to Support the Kurn Hattin Homes for Children.” It is available at the rectory. The cost of the book is $25. It is a fundraiser for the children’s home. You may purchase by cash, check or pay by credit card on-line at the Kurn Hattin Homes website: www.kurnhattin.org. (Indicate it is for the book). Postage is free if you want to send it to somebody. The book contains 100 reflections on Father’s work with children and homeless youth. It is an ideal present for anybody, but especially for those who teach or work with children from troubled homes. It is uplifting and will make an excellent gift.
November 1-8, the Church grants a plenary indulgence to anyone who visits a cemetery, prays for the dead, and performs the other essential acts for this special grace. In addition to visiting a graveyard, one must go to Confession, receive Holy Communion, offer at least a couple of prayers for the Holy Father’s monthly intentions, and free oneself from any attachment to sin. It’s best to fulfil all the requirements on the same day, but Confession, Communion, and prayer for the pope’s intentions may take place on within a few days before or after the cemetery visit. Another plenary indulgence will be granted for All Souls' Day for visiting a Catholic church and praying there an Our Father and the Creed for the Holy Souls. The usual conditions apply – Confession, Holy Communion, prayer for the Holy Father, and detachment from sin – carried out within a few days of All Souls’ Day.
